Waiguru Makes Personal Sacrifice for Uhuru to Win October Election

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has agreed to put aside her personal differences with Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici and work together to secure a win for President Uhuru Kenyatta in October election.

Speaking during a press conference held in the county, the two announced that they would also enlist former Governor Joseph Ndathi in the campaigns.

"We have decided to unite so that we can mobilise all the 351,000 voters from the county to vote for President Kenyatta.

"National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders are campaigning vigorously for their candidate Raila Odinga but all is not well among Jubilee leaders. That is why we have decided to come together to support the President," Ms Ngrici declared.

Tension between the two leaders begun in August when the Woman Representative accused Ms Waiguru of being disrespectful.

Ms Ngirici accused Waiguru of having intentionally refused to invite her to the Governor's inauguration ceremony.

"Respect is a two-way traffic and if Ms Waiguru does not respect me as a duly elected leader or as her mentor, then I will not also recognize her," the MP had threatened.

"There should be no more wrangling among leaders. We shall use our resources to campaign for President Kenyatta," former Governor Ndathi said during the official launch of the Kirinyaga presidential campaigns.
