National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters from Kilifi county on Sunday held fierce protests against their presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
The supporters accused the former Prime Minister of meddling in the county's politics in as far as nominations to the County Assembly were concerned.
The protesters claimed that Mr Odinga ordered Governor Amason Kingi to include three non-locals on the nomination list.
According to Ganze MCA Japhet Nzaro, the three non-locals, who are scheduled to join the Assembly, are all from Odinga's home county of Siaya.
"The three MCAs hail from Nyanza region and we don’t know how they made their way to the assembly," Mr Nzaro revealed.
The ward representative further conveyed that they have officially written to the Governor asking for the three members to be removed.
"We have brought our memorandum to Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.
"As residents of Kilifi county who voted overwhelmingly for NASA, we are disappointed with the leadership of NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga," the protesters reiterated.
The angry rioters added that there were far more qualified persons from within the county who could fill the three positions instead of outsiders.
