Ex-Kiambu Governor William Kabogo Sends Important Message to NASA Leader Raila Odinga

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga to engage in dialogue ahead of the repeat Presidential election.

In a tweet, the ex-governor explained that the two leaders needed to discuss and agree on the various issues they had so that Kenyans could go to the election and allow the country to move on.

Kabogo noted that the country will be better once the elections are conducted and done with.

The former Governor made the remarks following utterances from both Jubilee and NASA on the upcoming election.

On Sunday, President Kenyatta dismissed calls for talks with Mr Odinga ahead of the repeat Presidential election scheduled for October 26th, 2017.

Speaking in Mombasa, the Head of State explained that the powers to elect leaders belong to the people and as such he will leave it for them to decide Kenya's leadership.

“The constitution says that the sovereign power belongs to the people. All power is vested in the people and it is the people who shall decide who will lead them," he stated.

The former Prime Minister on his part has been on record stating that there will be no election until the IEBC makes key reforms.

According to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, the playing field is not level. He cited the withdrawal of his security detail as evidence of the same.

"IEBC is the thief that stole the elections on behalf of Jubilee. This is the Kibra Declaration. There will be no election on October 17 if our demands are not met. It will not happen," Odinga stated.
