Wafula Chebukati's Team Receives Sh12 Billion

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to receive Sh12 Billion to conduct the October 26 repeat presidential poll.

On Wednesday, Parliament approved a Sh2 Billion additional budgetary allocation that the Commission had requested.

According to a statement by the ad hoc Parliamentary Budget Committee, the funds have been allocated to cater for ICT infrastructure to be used during the repeat poll.

"The committee recommends an increase of Sh2 billion recurrent expenditure for management of electoral process programme.

"This increment is for the Kenya Integrated Elections Management Systems (KIEMS)," the committee report read in part.
