NASA MP Reveals What Happened Before 3 Protesters Were Shot Dead

Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda Ogolla has spoken out on the killing of three people during National Super Alliance anti-IEBC protests in his constituency.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke, Ogolla alleged that an organized gang from outside Bondo infiltrated the demonstrations with a motive of causing chaos and raiding businesses under the guise of protests.

He revealed that the gang forced civilians, including women, to join the protests despite the protests being voluntary and believes they could have been paid off by people seeking to delegitimize the demonstrations.

Ochanda condemned the police for using live bullets stating: "Even if they are civilians, suspects or criminals, the police have no right to use live bullets."

Those shot dead were allegedly trying to storm Bondo Police Station.

Mr Ogolla stated that previous demonstrations in Bondo had been peaceful and no one was shot, insisting that there was a scheme to ferry organized criminals from other places to wreak havoc and delegitimize the opposition's protests.

He alluded to the fact that the area is NASA leader Raila Odinga's home constituency, therefore detractors were determined to paint the coalition's supporters in a negative way.

He made an appeal to his constituents to root out the organized criminals to ensure they do not disrupt protests as witnessed on Friday.

Chaotic scenes rocked the region with three protesters being shot dead and three others sustaining serious injuries.

Ogolla stated that demonstrations in Bondo would go on next week, as he promised to meet local leaders to figure out how they would ensure safety for all the protesters.
