Uhuru Sends Warning to Kofi Annan

President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned the former United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Kofi Annan against setting foot in Kenya.

Speaking during his campaign tour in Murang'a County on Saturday, the President sternly declared that there is no room for mediated talks ahead of the October 26 repeat poll.

President Kenyatta has strongly condemned calls by National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga for the international community to assert it's authority in Kenya.

"He (Raila Odinga) has boarded a plane and gone to the white men to tell them that there is a crisis in Kenya and that they should send Kofi Annan to mediate and bring peace in Kenya. Isn't he the one who is disturbing the peace in Kenya?

"We have strongly declared that this time, Kofi Annan is not coming to Kenya. Kofi Annan, you are not welcome to Kenya," President Kenyatta announced.

He explained that Mr Odinga celebrated the Supreme Court nullification of his win as he saw it as a chance to form a coalition government.

"He (Raila Odinga) thought that I would reject the Supreme Court ruling so that Kenyans fight each other so that he gets his way with a nusu mkate government.

"He wanted to take us back to the 2007 agreement and we refused because we respect the will of the people and that is why we are campaigning," the President explained.

Leaked documents from the French Foreign Ministry revealed that the former UN Secretary-General actively sought to block Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto from vying in the 2013 General Election.

In the leaked correspondence, Annan had instructed the French government to threaten the "UhuRuto" duo with arrest and prosecution at the Hague in hopes that they would back out on their bid.
