NASA Reveals 7 Tribes Targeted in Police Attacks

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has accused the government of a well-orchestrated plan to attack a number of their supporters based on their tribes.

In a statement delivered on Saturday, Siaya Senator James Orengo condemned the killing of three supporters in his county during anti-IEBC protests on Friday.

Mr Orengo alleged that the police action was a direct result of an illegal action by two top government officials who he claims colluded to execute the heinous plan.

"The State seems to have unveiled a policy of profiling supporters of NASA and other protesters.

"This policy is being executed by the Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and the Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet," Orengo accused.

He added that the two have authorized the police to use excessive force against the Opposition supporters and enlisted militia gangs to conduct the killings of NASA supporters.

"These gangs along with the police are carrying out attacks against members of the population perceived to be supporting NASA and its leaders.

"The target is primarily against the following communities: the Luo, Luhya, Somali, Kamba, Abagusii, Maasai, Mijikenda and other Coastal communities," the Senator stated.

He disclosed that the police and the militia had been allowed to "murder, rape and commit other forms of inhumane acts" under state protection and pay.

The NASA leader reiterated their assertion that the police were responsible for looting and vandalism witnessed during the protests.
