ODM Leader Declares They'll Use Witchcraft on Election Day

Malindi Member of Parliament (MP) Aisha Jumwa has declared that the Opposition will enlist the services of witchdoctors to stop the October 26 presidential election.

Ms Jumwa stated that she and the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders will do everything within their power to ensure the election does not take place.

"All witchdoctors from Chonyi, all witchdoctors from Pwani and all witchdoctors in Kenya let us come together to achieve this mission," she charged.

Speaking during Mashujaa day, the MP asked the witchdoctors to send bees to polling stations to disrupt activities.

"Let us ensure we engage witchcraft to scuttle the election. Let us send bees on Election Day to disrupt the process.

"We (Coastal people) are known for having the most effective witchdoctors, let us see the witchcraft on that day," Ms Jumwa pleaded.

The ODM MP reiterated assertions made by ex-IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe who insisted that the Commission was not in a position to guarantee a credible election.

"We are here to communicate only one message. The ruling party insists that there must be a presidential election on October 26.

"I want to say that following Dr Roselyn Akombe's resignation from the IEBC and her confession that the electoral body was facing a significant number of challenges, which would make it nearly-impossible for IEBC to hold a free and fair poll, why should we trust them to do a neat job?" she declared.

The Opposition has affirmed its position that the repeat poll will not take place as their flag-bearer Raila Odinga maintains that he has withdrawn his candidature.
