Ababu Namwamba Reports Raila to African Union

A delegation led by former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has filed petitions with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Union (AU) seeking to have pre-emptive action taken on National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga whom they accuse of spearheading activities that threaten Kenya's stability.

The delegation, which also includes former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana and former Senate Speaker Ekwee Ethuro wants the continental bodies to hold Mr Odinga responsible for any instability that may arise from the current political stalemate.

They want measures put in place to curb alleged subversive activities in Kenya led by the former Prime Minister.

Among the options they want the bodies to consider is imposing travel bans on the Opposition leaders.

The delegation was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Tuesday where they handed over the petition to Daniel Yifru, Senior Political Advisor at IGAD.

Mr Namwamba had announced that under an umbrella body dubbed Council of Kenyan Professionals (CKP), they would seek to lodge cases against NASA leaders in various courts.

He stated that they were collecting evidence to lodge a case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Mr Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi among others.

NASA has declared that there will be no election on October 26th as the electoral body has failed to undertake reforms to ensure the poll is credible.

The coalition has stated that it will not participate in an election unless their 'Irreducible Minimums' are met.

The Opposition leaders have instructed their supporters to stay away from polling stations on election day.
