4 Major Announcements Kenyans Are Waiting for

Kenyans are this afternoon expecting four major announcements that will come from President Uhuru Kenyatta, NASA leader Raila Odinga, the High Court and IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati.

The NASA leader is set to address a rally at Uhuru Park that is scheduled to begin at 2 pm where he has promised his supporters a major announcement.

The leader has maintained that the repeat presidential poll set for October 26 will not take place and his supporters are awaiting instructions on what their alternative action will be.

Mr Chebukati is set to address the nation at 2.30 pm concerning the level of preparedness for the repeat presidential election scheduled for Thursday, October 26.

So far, the Supreme Court this morning failed to hear a critical case that sought to have the repeat poll cancelled.

On its part, the High Court is set to make a ruling on a case brought before it by former Kilome MP Harun Mwau.

Mr Mwau has taken Chebukati to court seeking to have him barred from conducting the repeat presidential poll with the same irregularities and illegalities that led to the nullification of the August 8 election.

"It is clear that the respondents are seeking to waive provisions of the Constitution and the law which they have no power to do, and as a matter of course if the fresh presidential elections are allowed to proceed as the respondents intend, the Supreme Court will invalidate the same," his petition read in part.
