The Head of State urged Kenyans to maintain peace as they head to the ballot noting that even those who did not want to vote were protected by the laws of the land.

Kenyatta further warned against causing chaos during the poll stating that the law would be applied to every Kenyan regardless of their political status or class.

He promised that he would not allow anarchy in the country but he would ensure that the constitution is defended.

“Let no one infringe on the right of the other person, your neighbour is your brother, your neighbour is your sister. After you vote, please go home,” the President stated.

“We are guided by the constitution, anybody who wishes to change what is planned tomorrow must do so within the law,” he added.

The President also assured that his government would protect the right of every Kenyan to travel and go about their business.

He maintained that the decision of the Judiciary to annul the August 8 Presidential election proved that Kenya was a democratic state.

President Kenyata noted that when the election period comes to an end, he would work together with all Kenyans to make up for lost time.

"With the new election, we have yet another opportunity to show the world that we are a free modern state focused on its growth," President Kenyatta stated.

"Our forefathers fought and died for the right of the African to vote, we dare not reject this inheritance," he added.
