NASA Politician Reveals His Plan For Police in Nyanza

Former Nairobi Senatorial Candidate Edwin Sifuna has revealed what he can do to stop police brutality in Western Kenya and Nyanza.

Speaking during an interview at KTN News, Mr Sifuna stated that given a chance, he would weld all the roads leading to the two regions to keep police officers away.

Sifuna stated that he fully supported the move by NASA supporters in Homa Bay to stop the progress of the police forces.

The lawyer noted that the opposition would not forever remain as sitting ducks and continue watching the "militia" shoot them in their houses.

"You would rather weld roads other than watch 100 people die because of police forces who access those areas and shoot people," Sifuna stated.

"We have a right as a people to defend ourselves from the brutalization of the police. We will do whatever it is within the law to immobilize those police officers and prevent them from reaching our women and children," he added.

Several people have lost their lives in various areas in Nyanza region following clashes between the police and protesters.

On Friday, Inspector General Joseph Boinnet stated that four civilians had been killed with 13 others injured since NASA protests started after the repeat election.

Boinnet added that 86 suspects had been arrested over electoral offenses while six police officers had been maimed in the violent protests.

Voting has since been postponed in Kisumu, Siaya, Migori and Homa Bay counties.
