Former Nation Media Group journalist Wallace Kantai has been appointed as the new Central Bank of Kenya Head of Communications.
Kantai was previously the Business Editor at NTV.
The announcement was made on Friday morning through a press release from the Central Bank.

According to the bank, Mr Kantai was hired because of his vast experience in the communications field.
This includes moderating high-profile international business panels and conferences.
He also interviewed many prominent business personalities during his stint on the airwaves.
Wallace has also previously worked in the Information Communications Technology (ICT) sector as well as in Non-Profit and Public Relations in countries including Kenya, South Africa and United Kingdom (UK).
He left Nation Media Group in May 2017.
Before joining NTV, he was the Communications Consultant at Wananchi Group and hosted The Platform Show on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation(KBC).
The Central Bank has recently been under pressure from the public over the delayed roll-out of the new-generation currency in line with the 2010 constitution.
