NASA Governor Sends Warning to Government Officials

Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has warned his County Public Service Board against taking bribes from those seeking Chief Officers positions.

Speaking during a burial service in Bungoma on Saturday, Wangamati stated that he was aware that members of the board had received up to Sh50,000 bribes from those seeking the positions.

Wangamati noted that the board was currently holding interviews for the 15 slots of Chief Officers who would be appointed in a week's time.

"Such corruption will not be entertained and only those who merit will be allowed to serve in my government," Wangamati stated.

In August, Religious leaders in Bungoma asked  Wangamati to prioritize the war on corruption.

They stated that the county had lagged in development under Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka's leadership due to rampant corruption.

During his acceptance speech after he was elected, Wangamati stated that he would not tolerate corrupt officers in his government.

The governor further stated that he would streamline every department in the county government.
