A fire broke out at police residential quarters in Kasarani Police Station on Monday evening.
Red Cross stated that the fire brigade from the Nairobi county council had been deployed to contain the inferno.
When contacted the Kasarani Officer Commanding Police Station (OCS) confirmed the incident adding that efforts were underway to contain the fire.
"We are working to put off the fire," stated the Senior officer briefly.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that the fire was a result of a gas explosion.
One police officer is reported to have sustained injuries with property worth millions destroyed in the Monday evening blaze.
The upper floor of the building was completely burnt by the time the fire was contained.
