Former MP's Son Dies

The son of former Changamwe Member of Parliament (MP) Ramadhan Kajembe is dead.

Seif Kajembe died on Tuesday morning while receiving treatment at a hospital in India.

According to Seif’s brother Sudi Kajembe, the deceased had been at the hospital for the last two weeks.

Reports indicate that Mr Kajembe who has been in active politics for over 30 years was grooming his deceased son to take over the political mantle from him.

Seif vied for the Jomvu Parliamentary seat in 2007 but lost the seat to his brother in-law Badi Twalib.

He planned to vie for the seat again in the August 8 General Election but was advised against the move owing to his kidney problems.

"Mheshimiwa has been having sleepless nights because of his favourite son. He loved that boy a lot," a close friend of the family stated.

"He wanted him to take over from him but Allah had other plans for him," he added.

Mr Kajembe is a veteran Kenyan politician who clinched the Changamwe Parliamentary seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket in 2007.
