Raila's Message to His Supporters Before Return to Kenya [VIDEO]

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on Thursday sent a special message to his supporters ahead of his highly anticipated return from London on Friday.

This is amidst uncertainty on how the grand welcome will take place at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The NASA coalition vowed to carry on with the grand reception for Mr Odinga at the JKIA on Friday despite a warning from the police.

"Hamjambo (greetings), I am very happy to talk to you this afternoon," he began.

Through a video recording, the Opposition explained why he had traveled to the United States for the past days.

"I have been in the US for the past ten days where I have met with leaders in the State department, Congress, and Institute for Strategic Studies.

"I have briefed them on the situtation back home and the challenges we are facing following the bungled elections," he conveyed.

He added that there was a lot of interest from abroad on the political situation in the country.

"I look forward to coming back home tomorrow to meet with my fellow Kenyans. Asanteni sana (thank you very much), see you on Friday," he concluded.

In a statement released by the National Police Service, Deputy Inspector General George Kinoti noted that the airport is a protected area hence access is open to bonafide travelers and people who have legitimate business there.

"The attention of the National Police Service has been drawn to press reports to the effect that some politicians are mobilizing crowds to march to the JKIA to receive Raila Odinga on Friday 17th upon his return from an overseas trip.

"It is therefore not advisable to mobilize huge crowds to travel to that facility as it risks jeopardizing the safety of air operators, passengers, and other airport users," read the statement.
