Conservationists note that pictures of people hugging or holding wild animals are classified as bad selfies.

According to the Star, other countries that appeared on the list included the United States, Tanzania and South Africa.

The study which was conducted by the World Animal Protection mainly tracked social media users - mainly on Instagram- who posted photos close to wild animals.

Apparently, images of animals in their natural habitats as people interact with them are classified as good selfies.

Kenyans often capture special moments through taking selfies and it is a common habit even in the CBD.

Since most phones come with fairly good front cameras these days, smartphone users never waste an opportunity to take selfies with celebrities, friends and family during their day to day activities.

Most of these photos are later shared online via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter where followers and friends can comment and like.
