Governor to Name Road After Comedian Churchill

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has announced plans to name a road in the county after veteran comedian Churchill.

Governor Mutua, who was recently ordered to pay Nation Media Group Sh12 Million, hailed Churchill for his contribution to the country and promised to honor him in his home county.

He stated: "What you have done for this country is great and I promise to tarmac and name the road that leads to your home after you."

Mr Mutua spoke during an event held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) to celebrate the comedian's 40th birthday.

The event was graced by various comedians, artists, and political leaders.

Churchill spoke on how he was impressed with the growth of comedy in Kenya over the past 15 years.

"I am happy to see comedy in Kenya become not only a fully-fledged career for professionals but also one of the most lucrative careers in the county. It's an achievement I'm proud of," he stated.

Other people who spoke at the event also thanked Churchill for his commitment to growing the comedy scene in Kenya.

His flagship show, Churchill Show, was also highlighted as playing a big role in uniting Kenyans.

Comedians at the event thanked Churchill for giving them a platform to showcase their talents over the years.
