Kenyans on Monday proposed various theories behind how suspected bank robbers were caught after a Sh50 Million bank heist.

One supposition that went viral is a video footage of a young woman surrounded by hundreds of Kenyan Sh1,000 notes.

Kenyans, who used the popular 'slay queen' tag to describe her, claimed that the lady had led to the arrest of the suspected robbers.

Here is the video.

Under the topic Thika Law Courts, savvy social media users were quick to debunk the footage, clarifying that it was in no way linked to the recent bank robbery.

Three men were arrested in connection with the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) robbery and were arraigned in court on Monday where they denied charges brought against them.

Police reports indicated that the suspects were arrested in Marurui area within Kiambu County.

They are then said to have led the officers to a house in Juja where Sh17.6 Million was recovered. The bulk of the money was in Kenyan currency while the rest was distributed in dollars, pounds and other currencies.

The police statement may have sparked the controversial viral video as investigators conveyed that they got leads from social media.

"Police broke into the house on Saturday and found a lot of money, which they counted for three hours," the landlord of the apartment stated.

Farah Maalim

Former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Farah Maalim, was on the trends list on Monday following a purported court ruling that nullified MP Dan Wanyama's win in the August 8 elections.

Social media users demanded that the courts also nullify Aden Duale's win in the Garissa Town contest which has been challenged by Mr Maalim.
