7-Year Old Boy Killed, Pregnant Woman Shot After NASA Supporters Clash With Police

A 7-year-old boy was on Tuesday killed at Pipeline estate in Nairobi after NASA supporters clashed with police before they could commence their memorial service at Jacaranda grounds.

The boy identified as Geoffrey Mutinda is reported to have been shot as he was playing on a balcony at his home when the opposition supporters engaged in running battles with police.

A pregnant woman was also shot and injured during the fracas.

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale condemned the force exerted by police on the NASA leaders and supporters.

"A trail of bullet wounds, fractured limbs, five dead Kenyans including my smashed car on a day Jubilee didn't want to hear of memorial prayers at Jacaranda," he tweeted on Tuesday.

Following the arrival of the police, a group of youth assembled and started marching to the venue after which police reacted leading to the shootings.

The Nation reported that the officers were in full anti-riot gear and threw teargas everywhere, including residential estates beating up whoever they came across.
