Nurse Stabs University Student To Death

A third-year student at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology was on Saturday found dead in a guest house in Bondo after allegedly being stabbed by her boyfriend, a nurse at Nightingale Hospital in Kisumu.

She was found stabbed to death a day after she checked into the room with her boyfriend, Collins Oluoch Ogweno on Friday evening.

The caretaker of the guest house, Benson Muchiri, stated that a commotion was heard coming from the room on Saturday morning before he heard screams at around 5.30 am.

Mr Muchiri then informed the police who promptly arrived on the scene.

The police officers found the lifeless body of the 23-year old student bearing multiple stab wounds.

They sealed off the crime scene to preserve evidence.

According to the OCPD Paul Kiarie, the couple got into a heated argument over infidelity.

The police believe Ogweno snapped and decided to kill his girlfriend.

Ogweno has since been arrested and will be arraigned in court to face a murder charge.

Mr Kiarie noted that this would happen only when investigations into the case were complete.
