Ezra Chiloba Makes a Comeback

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba is back in the limelight after he resurfaced on social media.

The embattled CEO created a buzz after posting a tweet praising rapper Octopizzo for doing good music.

Refreshing listening to @OCTOPIZZO at #TalkCentral. Reflective and purposeful in thought and action. Keep it up! @KalekyeMumo

However, Kenyans on Twitter were not happy with his return and took the opportunity to name call and ridicule him.

Now @chiloba after stealing elections.... You decide to erect your ears to octo songs.... Nkt

Mr Chiloba had been laying low after the National Super Alliance (NASA) called for his resignation from the electoral agency.

The Opposition had included his resignation as part of its ‘irreducible minimums” forcing Chiloba to go on leave before the October 26 repeat presidential election.

Since the August 8 elections, NASA leaders claimed that the CEO was one of the IEBC officials who were involved in electoral malpractices.

The accusations were fuelled by a leaked memo from IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati asking for answers over the nullified presidential poll.

Chiloba had tweeted former radio host Kalekye Mumo, praising Octopizzo who had been a guest on the show.

His tweet opened the pandora’s box when Kenyans started throwing jabs and further accusing him of having a hand in bungling the August 8 election.

Others took the opportunity to welcome him back and encouraged him to be strong further noting that while he was away, the President won the election.

Welcm back Ezra..leave alone haters.and by the way we elected @UKenyatta as president.when you was away.

The CEO had stated that his decision to take a break from the electoral body was a personal move aimed at building confidence in stakeholders.

The Supreme Court upheld the October 26 presidential re-run though 25 constituencies were marred with violence after the opposition boycotted the exercise.
