Report Reveals Millions Jubilee Used Compared to NASA in Election

A new report released by Reelforge Systems Limited has revealed that the Jubilee Party spent double what the National Super Alliance (NASA) spent in advertisements ahead of 2017 General Election.

According to the report, Jubilee was the highest spender between January 1 and August 2017 paying out Sh312,141,620 in political advertisement expenses.

NASA came in second spending a total of Sh155,153,840 in advertisement costs.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's Maendeleo Chap Chap, on its part, spent Sh1,812,300 making it third.

According to the report, most parties aired their adverts on radio and television with minimal advertisements appearing in newspapers and other printed materials.

The report further revealed that the ruling party spread its advertisement on various TV stations whereas the Opposition only employed the services of one TV station.

The Reelforge Systems findings noted that July was the month with the highest expenditure since it was the last month before the polls kicked off.

During the campaigns, Jubilee Party employed a huge machinery where a fleet of vehicles were branded with the party's colors.

The Party also hired grassroots mobilizers to spearhead the President's re-election agenda at the time.
