Kenyans' Hilarious Reactions to Nationwide Blackout

Kenyans were on Tuesday forced to operate in darkness following a countrywide power blackout.

In a press statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Kenya Power attributed the outage in various parts of the country to a technical hitch.

"A technical hitch emanating from our transmission system has led to loss of electricity to parts of the country this evening.

"Areas affected by the outage include parts of Nairobi, Mount Kenya, Nyanza, Western, Rift Valley and Coast regions," the notice read in part.

The Power company explained that they were working to restore power giving priority in  Metropolitan areas.

"The faulty section has been isolated and efforts to restore supply have commenced beginning with Mt. Kenya and Nairobi regions. Kenya Power management apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the outage," Kenya power stated.

Kenyans online were disappointed in the blackout with many venting their frustrations online.
