Kenyans Invited to Apply for Shadow Cabinet Positions

ThirdWay Alliance Leader Dr Ekuru Aukot on Thursday made out a call for applications from Kenyans interested to join his shadow Cabinet.

The former Presidential candidate indicated that he was going through the résumés of different applicants to consider those who would join his team.

"Thirdway Alliance Kenya is currently going through CVs of Kenyans seeking to be considered in its shadow cabinet.

"All interested Kenyans are advised to send their CVs to leader@thirdwaykenya.org before or on January 30, 2017," he stated through his Twitter account.

The Party explained that the appointment to the Cabinet would comply with Article 130 of the Kenyan constitution which states that the executive shall consist of the President, Deputy President and the rest of the Cabinet.

The article also stipulates that the composition of the national executive shall reflect the regional and ethnic diversity of the people of Kenya.

In a previous interview with Kenyans.co.ke, Mr Aukot stated that his team would be made up of experts who would be tasked with keeping President Uhuru Kenyatta's government in check.

The former Presidential candidate affirmed that it was the responsibility of a credible Opposition to offer alternative leadership.

"The function of the cabinet will be to shadow the Government.

"We will offer alternative leadership. We should be able to challenge the government of the day on policy. Our experts will question the government and offer better solutions," Aukot stated.

He further noted that they would be keeping a close eye on the appointment of the actual Cabinet by President Kenyatta.
