Raila to Unveil Cabinet, Form Parallel Government

The National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga is set to unveil an Opposition Cabinet next week and form a parallel government.

Reports indicate that Mr Odinga could name his cabinet on Monday next week at a rally in Kakamega County.

The former Prime Minister's Spokesman, Dennis Onyango, while speaking to the Standard, noted that there had been plans to have a rally in Kakamega but it was yet to be confirmed.

“What you hear about Kakamega is tentative. The final decision will be made by the NASA steering committee.

"What I know is that he (Raila) will be back in Nairobi tomorrow (today) and will attend the burial of Prof Calestous Juma in Busia over the weekend,” he stated.

Apart from the unveiling of the Cabinet, the NASA leader is also expected to a unveil a new protest and boycott schedule aimed at pressurizing the government into dialogue.

In his new year message to Kenyans, Mr Odinga noted that the coalition will not stop its reform agenda and fight for electoral justice adding that NASA will not recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.

"Within the first week of the New Year, we will unveil a program for civil disobedience, peaceful protests, non-cooperation with and resistance to an illegitimate regime in addition to People’s Assemblies," Odinga stated.
