Thieves Dressed as Nuns Steal Sh2 Million From Karen Forex Bureau

Two thugs disguised as nuns allegedly drugged a forex bureau attendant and made away with Sh2 Million in Nairobi's Karen area.

Reports indicate that the two stated that they wanted to exchange US dollars to Kenyan shillings.

Details of the robbery are still scanty but eyewitnesses confirmed the two were dressed like nuns.

It is suspected that they used a poisonous gas to make the attendant drowsy as CCTV footage shows the thugs talking to him.

The Standard reports that the attendant then opened the door to the strong room before the suspects followed in.

By the time they were leaving, the victim had fallen asleep on the counter and the guards outside had no idea of what had transpired.

He was discovered by another customer who walked in several minutes after the gang escaped.

Once the attendant woke up, he gave police an account of what had happened as they tried to establish how the robbery occurred.

Karen OCPD Cunningham Suiyanka stated that they arrested the attendant for interrogation because his narrative was not adding up.

“We wonder why and how he opened the door for the said suspects to gain entry to the strong room and access the cash.

"He is a suspect for now,” added Suiyanka.

The police boss further revealed that the robbery might have been an inside job but CCTV footage had been obtained for analysis.
