Huge Fire Near Wilson Airport [PHOTOS]

Panic has gripped workers at the Wilson Airport after a huge fire broke out near the premises at the AMREF office buildings.

Fire engines from the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) are currently battling the fierce inferno.

Reports indicate that there are no casualties reported so far.

"I have spoken with staff and the management and so far all of them are safe," Mr Pius Masai told the Nation on the phone.

National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU) Deputy Director Pius Masai confirms the incident.

"We are yet to determine the cause but all we want is that it be contained fast," noted Mr Pius Masai.

The fire is reported to have caused a traffic snarl along Lang'ata road.

This comes a month after a fire broke out at police residential quarters in Kasarani Police Station.

Where the Red Cross stated that the fire brigade from the Nairobi county council were deployed to contain the inferno.

Kasarani Officer Commanding Police Station (OCS) confirmed that incident.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that the fire was a result of a gas explosion.

One police officer was reported to have sustained injuries with property worth millions destroyed in the evening blaze.
