Evans Kidero Predicted Ongoing Muggings in Nairobi CBD [VIDEO]

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero predicted the rampant ongoing muggings in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).

During the Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant debate in 2017 pitting him against incumbent Mike Sonko, former Gatanga Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Kenneth and lawyer Miguna Miguna, he noted that there would be the re-emergence of criminal activities in the CBD.

"Talking about Sonko Rescue team, I think one of the future problems we are going to have in this country is the re-emergence of criminal gangs," he stated.

He further explained that many unemployed youth flock Nairobi City and if they unsuccessfully look for jobs, they end up joining such gangs.

"12 Million people get into the job market every year and 70,000 end up in Nairobi CBD, That is why the county has high population," he explained.

He stated this while refuting Governor Sonko's remarks that he had initiated the Sonko Rescue Team to create job opportunities in the Capital.

This prediction comes right at a time when there is a public outcry due to the ongoing criminal activities characterized by muggings and attacks at the city center.

A majority of residents have in the recent past given nasty experiences of how they have lost personal belongings in the hands of gangs.

Governors Sonko has since formed an anti-mugging squad which will work in collaboration with the police to curb the menace.

On Tuesday, two suspected muggers were reportedly shot dead after police pounced on them robbing members of the public.
