Madowo also told the journalist that the police were also after Kaikai and Mijungu.

This is after government shut down Citizen TV and radio, NTV and KTN News for reporting on the swearing-in of opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Kaikai on Monday revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta summoned a few editors to State House and threatened to close and revoke the licences of any media house that would air the NASA swearing-in event.

Kaikai, who is the Managing Editor at NTV, stated that he was alarmed over a developing trend by the government to gag or threaten the media over coverage of the current political events in the country.

Madowo had on Wednesday stated on his Facebook page that he was ready to be investigated if journalism was outlawed in Kenya after remarks by CS Matiang'i.
