Kibera Youth Stone Vehicles Protesting Miguna's Arrest

A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters launched protests on Friday mid-morning in Kibera following the arrest of the self-declared general of the outlawed National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The Opposition supporters burnt tires at some sections of the slum and barricaded the Southern bypass to protest the morning incident.

Traffic along the road was also disrupted as the youth stoned vehicles forcing motorists to use alternative routes.

Miguna's Runda home was attacked and he was later arrested for allegedly administering Opposition leader Raila Odinga's oath at Uhuru Park on January 30.

In response to the rampage at his home, he called upon young supporters of NRM to report to his house in large numbers.

"We need our youth here in large numbers! 486 Runda Meadows!" he stated through his Twitter account

The Director of Criminal Investigations, George Kinoti, indicated that Miguna was arrested for administering an illegal oath and being a member of the illegal NRM.

“Miguna publicly declared that he is the general of NRM, which is already declared a proscribed group. By the time he declared publicly, there was a gazette notice by the Minister. How can we let it go? We are law enforcers,” Kinoti conveyed.

On Thursday, Miguna asked NASA supporters to remove all of President Uhuru Kenyatta's portraits from their properties.

"We are ordering NRM soldiers to take down Uhuru's portraits from all homes, businesses and every premise they occupy.

"Matiang'i, if you are looking for me, I am ready, and I have been ready since I was a teenager," he noted
