Miguna Miguna's Home Raided by Police

Police officers on Friday morning raided the Runda home of self-proclaimed General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Miguna Miguna.

Reports indicate that the lawyer, who was at home at the time, was later apprehended for witnessing the oath taking of NASA leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday.

Miguna is said to have been whisked away to Kiambu Police Station for further questioning.

According to the Nairobi lawyer, police allegedly bombed their way into his home intending to arrest him which resulted in a stand-off.

Miguna sent a text message to various newsrooms that read: "The police have bombed their way into my house. I can't speak on the phone right now. They have ransacked the house!

"They are searching all rooms. It's an assassination squad! I can't speak. They are still here...looking for me.

"Some are still hiding in the compound of my house hoping that I make a move so that they can shoot me and claim that there was a 'shoot-out'. I'm staying put," the message read in part.

The lawyer went on to give the address of his home summoning young supporters of the NRM to report to his house en masse.

"We need our youth here in large numbers! 486 Runda Meadows! It's urgent and dire!" the former gubernatorial candidate charged.

Miguna was one of the two lawyers who administered the oath of office to Odinga declaring him the people's President on January 30.

Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang' was on Wednesday arrested and charged in court with participating in an act of treason at the Milimani Law Courts on Thursday.

He was later released on a cash bail of Sh50,000.
