Donald Kipkorir Reveals How NASA Leaders are Being Selected for Arrest

City lawyer Donald Kipkorir on Saturday disclosed the criteria used by President Uhuru Kenyatta's government to arrest members of the National Super Alliance (NASA) brigade.

According to the outspoken legal mind, the government was ethnic profiling the leaders being arrested from the opposition side.

He highlighted that during the controversial swearing-in of Raila Odinga, there were over 50 elected members of parliament, senators and governors from across the country yet they have only detained Luo leaders.

"Baba's swearing was witnessed by over 300,000 people from across Kenya; there were over 50 elected MPs, Senators and Governors from across the Country.

"To selectively arrest Luos only is ethnic profiling. The government can’t ethnicize criminal process. High Court will free them all," he tweeted on Saturday.

The ruling party has so far arrested three legislators: Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang, Madaraka MP George Aladwa, and the outlawed National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Miguna Miguna.

All of whom are from the Luo ethnic community.

Kajwang and Miguna were arrested on claims that they administered an illegal oath to Odinga as the People's President.

The Ruaraka MP was released on Wednesday on a Sh50,000 bond and is to appear before the court on Monday while Miguna is currently behind bars.

However, Madaraka lawmaker, Aladwa is allegedly arrested for being the mastermind behind former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's home attack on January 30, night.
