National Super Alliance (NASA) lawmakers were a happy lot on Tuesday after they won a lawsuit they had filed against the government.
The High Court directed the government to reinstate the security detail of at least 141 Opposition MPs that had been withdrawn after Raila Odinga's January 30 'swearing-in'.
Justice Roselyne Aburili issued temporary orders to the government to reinstate the legislators' security.
She further certified the matter filed by the lawmakers as urgent and directed them to serve all respondents in the suit.

The MPs were told to appear before the court in two week’s time for inter-parties hearing.
Justice Aburili also suspended the decision by police to withdraw MP Peter Kaluma’s firearm license pending the determination of the case.
NASA lawmakers had moved to court on Monday following the decision alleged to have been relayed from Vigilance House and requested the court to suspend the decision.
They argued that the decision by the government to withdraw their security put their personal safety and lives at risk.
The MPs maintained that Inspector General Joseph Boinnet failed to take into account the necessary and relevant considerations before pulling out their security.

Kaluma, who was the lawyer for the MPs, stated that this included the fact that security provisions are a duly gazetted right of state officers serving in Parliament.
