Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday was trolled by tweeps after he disclosed how he, with the help of his team, was able to repair two ambulances by buying two fuses for Sh100 as opposed to using approximately Sh2.3 million.
Sonko took to Twitter to explain how county engineers had been exploiting the county through claims that the ambulances needed repairing.
The county boss established that the department tasked with repairing and maintaining vehicles at City Hall had been grounding county ambulances and fire engines, pretending they have mechanical problems and demanding millions of shillings to repair the vehicles.
According to a report by City Hall, the governor discovered the mischief after the department sent a quotation of Sh2.3 million to have three ambulances fixed at the Mama Lucy Hospital in Embakasi.

Sonko, upon receiving the quotation, requested city hall engineers to look at the ambulances which were donated by the Chinese government.
The three ambulances had reportedly remained grounded for the last two years for allegedly being faulty.
According to Sonko, City Hall engineers revived the ambulances within minutes after using Sh100 which was used to purchase two fuses for the vehicles.
Tweeps, however, were not kind to the Governor.
