Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM-K) Kalonzo Musyoka has challenged the revocation of his firearm licence and the withdrawal of his security detail by Inspector-General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, and the Firearms Licensing Board (FLB).
Under a certificate of urgency, Kalonzo wants the court to issue orders prohibiting the police from interfering with the day to day operation of his Beretta pistol which he notes he had from 1998.
Through his lawyers Rachier & Amollo Advocates, Kalonzo also challenges the withdrawal of police officers assigned to him as bodyguards.
He further disclosed that officers stationed at his Tseikuru home in Kitui had been redeployed as well.
Kalonzo's security was withdrawn on January 30 after the swearing in of Raila Odinga as the People's President, an event that he missed.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i explained that they could not provide security for individuals behind what the Government maintained was a treasonous event.
The withdrawal of the guards was followed by a grenade attack at Kalonzo's home on the night of January 30.
According to private guards stationed at the gate, two vehicles were seen approaching the home before they parked opposite Kalonzo's house.
They reportedly threw a stun grenade into the residence and opened gunfire.
Kalonzo argues that the attack is a bigger reason why his security should be reinstated.
