Blogger Robert Alai was a subject of harsh criticism on Wednesday after releasing an exposé that alleged Professor Githu Muigai was in actual fact the son of a veteran Luhya trade unionist.

Netizens who responded to Mr Alai's tweet found the claim laughable and they did not spare sarcasm in responding to the blogger.

The topic "Githu Muigai" continued to trend for a second day as social media users shared their comments on the topic.
