Uhuru Warned of Dire Consequences Over PS Appointment

Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has threatened to break political ties with President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee party should he fail to appoint National Museums boss Mzalendo Kibunjia as a Principal Secretary.

Addressing the recent appointments of PSs, Governor Njuki warned the President that the people of Tharaka Nithi were watching to see what he would do.

"I am the voice of the people of Tharaka Nithi and I have been seeing the seats being distributed as we are left out.

"Let the President and his deputy be told that we are watching. We won't threaten them but they should know what our position is so that there is no confusion in 2022," the Governor began.

He went on to outline that should all the PS positions be filled without considering the Museums boss, DP William Ruto will not be welcome to the county in 2022.

"Tharaka Nithi, we work so hard and vote so hard, 72% for these national leaders but when they make appointments we are forgotten. We want to be shown why should continue to vote for them.

"We have our people who are very qualified. We have Director Mzalendo Kibunjia. There isn't a PS position in this country where Kibunjia cannot fit. He is well educated and has more expertise than many others. We will not accept any excuse that there is no one qualified for the position," Governor Njuki stated.

The outspoken Governor dismissed fellow leaders who have not expressed similar sentiments declaring that he would not shy away from fighting from the people from the region.

The Governor differed with Senate Majority Whip Kithure Kindiki in public when the Professor urged residents to remain firmly in support of the President.

"Our people voted for Mr Kenyatta and Mr Ruto overwhelmingly in both the August and October polls and we expect the duo to reciprocate with big things as well," the Governor stated in protest.
