National Assembly Minority Leader, John Mbadi, on Thursday claimed that the recent judges' reshuffle was Jubilee's plot to remove Chief Justice David Maraga by having friendly Judges to have influence in the Judiciary.
Speaking during a press briefing at Parliament Buildings, the Orange Democratic Movement leader disclosed that Jubilee was plotting to remove the CJ in a bid to weaken the Judiciary.
“Let them go directly to the point. We know they are targeting Maraga so that they have friendly people in the Judiciary," Mbadi expressed.
“These attacks and threats are political and are aimed at making the Judiciary cower before the government," he added.

"Judges and magistrates are therefore being used as collateral damage in political disputes and being turned into scapegoats for Jubilee’s legitimacy deficit and failures,” he told reporters.
Responding to Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju's letter in which he accused the Judiciary of bias, Mbadi stated that the Opposition had also lost many cases.
He added that in the event of the loses, NASA did not threaten the judges as it was concerned with the independence of the Judiciary.
“Judiciary is the only institution that is still limping after the Executive successfully managed to control the legislature. The government is however determined to suffocate the Judiciary,” Mbadi conveyed.
Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang' echoed Mbadi's sentiments faulting Tuju for being used by the Government to undermine the Judiciary.
“Jubilee is losing cases because they go to courts without facts, and they also don’t have competent lawyers. Judges and magistrates must be allowed to do their work without threats or intimidation.

“Mr Tuju will one day need the independence of the Judiciary that he is now fighting to erode, and that time will be soon,” he explained.
