KNH Under Siege Again After New Scandal

Reports from the Nation indicated that the baby theft could have been an inside job, sparking outrage from Kenyans online.

Many questioned how the baby was stolen from within the hospital's precincts.

Ms Jane Kerubo delivered twin boys at KNH two weeks ago and was discharged, but returned at 2 am on Sunday night accompanied by her husband, Job Ouko, and sister-in-law, Naomi Leo, after developing breathing complications.

According to her husband, there was a delay in cleaning the room his wife was supposed to use and she had to wait until 11 am on Monday to be attended to.

As Ouko wheeled his wife to the room, he asked a Kisii-speaking woman with whom they had struck a rapport to hold Prince.

He left the other baby with another lady who was with the woman suspected to have stolen Prince.

It was when he came back to get his children that he discovered the woman who had Prince had just left.

CCTV cameras caught the woman believed to be holding the toddler leaving the hospital, getting on a motorbike and quickly getting away.

“I waited for almost 10 hours for my wife to be attended to. The more I stayed the more I got tired.

"I am a human being, I see someone who is also a patient and waiting [sic] (and) decided to ask for help. I gave the other son to yet another patient to hold them as I escorted my wife to the ward," Ouko stated.
