Moses Kuria Predicts Raila, Jubilee Partnership in 2022

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Thursday stated that there is a high likelihood NASA leader Raila Odinga will join the Jubilee Party camp in 2022.

Through a post on his official Facebook page, Kuria suggested that among all NASA co-principals, Odinga had the highest chance of working with Jubilee.

"Keep this post for future reference. On a balance of probabilities the chances of Raila Odinga working with Jubilee between now and 2022 are much higher than those of Kalonzo, Wetangula and Musalia combined.

"1997 is about to repeat itself. I have been in these trenches for far too long," wrote Kuria.

Mr Odinga's first attempt at the Presidency was in 1997, when he performed dismally, coming third behind winner Daniel Arap Moi and runner-up Mwai Kibaki.

Following this setback, leaders of the opposition united to form the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) in a bid to wrestle power from the then leading party KANU in the 2002 election.

Notable faces in the coalition were Kibaki, the late Kijana Wamalwa, Odinga, current Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and Tourism CS Najib Balala.

The team settled on Kibaki as the flagbearer and he squared it off with KANU's candidate at the time, Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kibaki trounced Kenyatta in the election that to date is considered to have been free and fair, devoid of any irregularities.

Despite being in a wheelchair during his swearing-in, Kibaki took oath at Uhuru Park in an event that was attended by millions and followed by many others on radio and TV.

The event marked a new dawn for the nation as it drew the curtains on what was perceived as an oppressive regime.
