NASA MPs Come to Louis Otieno's Rescue

National Super Alliance (NASA) MPs led by Suna North lawmaker Millie Odhiambo, on Friday pledged to support former media personality Louis Otieno who lost his hearing while undergoing treatment.

Speaking at Orange house during ODM's National Governing Council function, Ms Odhiambo stated that she would launch an initiative to financially support the family and friends of the former KTN journalist.

She promised to ensure that the Opposition MPs pool enough resources that would enable Louis get hearing aid devices.

"Our attention has been brought to the plight of Louis Otieno, who was a  top media personality in Kenya, and we want to say as concerned Members of Parliament that we are going to support him in whichever little way that we can," she stated.

Louis' health plight resurfaced previously when his family announced that he had lost hearing while undergoing treatment of acute pancreatitis.

Consequently, the Louis Otieno Medical Fund launched a medical bill to raise funds that would offset the hospital bills

Millie also announced that the NASA team was willing to financially help Citizen TV anchor Swaleh Mdoe who revealed that he was going through financial crisis.

"Our attention has also been drawn to the plight of Swaleh Mdoe; we do not know if its true or not that he wants to sell his kidney to raise money.

"We want to encourage him not to sell his kidney...We are going to join with his family and friends to see what we can do to help," she stated.

She was accompanied by Embakasi East's Babu Owino, his Rarieda counterpart Otiende Amollo and other NASA MPs.
