Kenyans were on Thursday engaged in a heated discussion online concerning the nullification of Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter's August 2017 election win.

On the topic "Alfred Keter" mixed reactions were shared concerning the outcome of the case with some netizens suggesting he should join the Opposition.

Mr Keter, while addressing a large crowd in Eldoret town, stated that the nullification was another attack from higher forces who were out to end him.

Some commentators accused the MP of being overdramatic in his response to the ruling. Here are the comments that were shared.

Issuing his ruling on the matter, Justice George Kanyi stated that the petitioner had managed to prove that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had conducted the election with a number of irregularities.

Justice Kanyi observed that evidence submitted to the court had proven that Keter had continued to campaign past the deadline issued by the IEBC.

The Judge further ordered investigations into the voter bribery charges illustrated during the court proceedings.

Alfred Keter was recently charged with 11 counts of forgery and colluding to defraud the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) after being accused of presenting forged Treasury Bills to the CBK.
