Musalia Mudavadi's Reaction After Raila Odinga - Uhuru Kenyatta Meeting

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi on Friday stated that he was not aware that fellow co-principal Raila Odinga was set to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke, ANC Secretary-General Barrack Muluka conveyed that Mr Mudavadi and co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula were all in the dark on the meeting.

"I have just spoken to my party leader and he was not aware of the meeting. Raila acted alone and this is unacceptable.

"Raila has shown us his true character just as I had warned Kenyans before. With the swearing-in and with this, he sneaked behind their back and did it alone," the Secretary-General told Kenyans.co.ke on phone.

He added that the leaders had heard rumours of the plans to meet prior to the Friday meeting at Harambee House.

"There were rumours that Raila had been meeting with luminaries from that side all along even after the swearing-in.

"I'm certain that Mary Wambui (former Othaya MP) and Jimmy Kibaki have played a hand in organising this meeting. Raila has always been meeting with them.

"Had any of the other principals done this I'm sure it would not have been received well but because Raila is idolised we will not hear anyone condemn such betrayal. This is unacceptable," Muluka asserted.

The political analyst went on to outline that the party leaders would meet and announce their official position after Raila's move.

After the meeting, Mr Kenyatta and Odinga stated that they would work together to enhance peace in the country.
