Meanwhile, Madowo, who is very vocal on social media on Friday revealed that he was on the verge of deleting his Twitter account explaining that his experience on the platform had been less than satisfactory.

According to Larry, the platform had become an avenue for users and robots to abuse and degrade those with strong opinions.

"My experience on the platform has been the most degrading experience of my career. I am constantly considering deleting my account for good.

"If nothing changes soon, I will have no choice but to deactivate it and walk away from the vile, toxic mess it is for heavy users with strong opinions like me," the journalist wrote in the Washington Post.

Larry has not been shy to criticise the government, and he previously penned an article on the Washington Post expressing his frustrations on the challenges of being a journalist in Kenya.

The opinion piece; Kenya is sliding into a dictatorship, highlighted the occurrences in the country after Raila Odinga's swearing-in as the People's President, terming them 'alien'.

"The overreaction from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s embattled administration was swift and relentless, starting with a week-long illegal shutdown of four television stations, including the three largest independent TV stations, NTV, KTN News and Citizen TV, which collectively control 70 percent of total viewership," he wrote.
