Anne Waiguru's Magazine Cover That has Angered Kenyans

Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru, on Sunday became the subject of discussion on social media following her recent interview with True Love Magazine.

The county boss has been featured as the cover woman on the Magazine's March issue.

Posting it on Twitter, True Love stated:"What does it take to make an Iron Lady? What made Anne Waiguru? Find out in our current March issue as we continue to #pressforprogress2018 #pressforprogress to ensure gender parity across the world is realised.

The issue dubbed "True Grit" has covered Waiguru's personal and political life that has exemplified grit, proving her as "an iron lady."

However, the release of this issue did not go down well with Kenyans as most of them did not approve of Waiguru being referred to as 'an iron lady.'

Some tweeps dismissed her on grounds that she took part in the National Youth Service (NYS) scam that had Kenya loss over 1.8 billion.

Others accused the True Love magazine of insulting Kenyans for degrading the meaning of iron lady as it has been known in the past.

One user stated:"Really? Of all the Kenyan women you choose Anne Waiguru as a paragon of strong women? Is Kenya so debased that looters are lauded as heroines? "

Additionally, another one claimed:"The Iron Lady title belongs to one Martha Karua. All the others are not to be regarded."

Ms Waiguru, who was the Cabinet Secretary for Devolution, was accused of being part of the NYS scandal that saw billions of taxpayers money lost.
