Wiper, ANC, Ford- Kenya to Divorce ODM If It Merges with Jubilee

Amani National Congress (ANC) Deputy Party leader Ayub Savula on Thursday announced that the party is ready to 'divorce' the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) if it merges with Jubilee Party.

Speaking at Panafric Hotel, where Wiper Party, ANC, and Ford-Kenya were meeting, Savula asserted that the three political outfits have agreed to ditch ODM if it engages itself in a partnership with the ruling party.

"In case ODM engages Jubilee in a partnership that just involves them and Jubilee or it is swallowed by Jubilee in the arrangement, we will divorce them," Savula exclaimed.

He, further, urged the National Super Alliance (NASA) leadership to convene an urgent parliamentary group meeting for the coalitions' legislators to explain details of the talks.

"Raila and his team need to give us a detailed account of the talks that took place between him and President Kenyatta," he reiterated.

Additionally, he mentioned that it is important for the coalition to have structured talks before engaging their political opponents, Jubilee Party.

Savula also added that ANC, Wiper, and Ford-Kenya are ready to take up the role as the official opposition if ODM merges with the ruling party.

He was quick to explain that taking up the opposition outfit is their last resort following the recent turn of events.

The Lugari MP also stated that they are against ODM belittling other parties in NASA.

"We are not walking out of NASA. We are the owners of NASA. If ODM leaves, we will build the coalition and take over the presidency in 2022," affirmed Savula.

Makueni MP Dan Maanzo commented: "Kalonzo was misunderstood by a number of members of the press yesterday. He called for the same thing we have just agreed on today. He meant we need all-inclusive talks."
