How Moses Wetangula Can Survive Removal as Senate Minority Leader - John Mbadi

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) national chairman John Mbadi has revealed that an intervention by the National Super Alliance (NASA) Summit is the only way Moses Wetangula will survive removal as the Senate Minority leader.

Speaking to KTN News, Mbadi, who is also the Suba South Member of Parliament, alleged that the decision to remove the Bungoma Senator was carried out independently by a group of sixteen NASA affiliated senators.

"What I have gathered is that the senators, sixteen of them, met and made an agreement that they are going to replace Wetangula from the Senate and they signed to that effect," he stated.

Mbadi opined that given NASA was still working as a coalition, critical decisions should be vetted by the summit which he said was still in control.

"The appointment of Wetangula as the minority leader was done in consultation with the summit and the decisions being made in NASA have to be done following the agreements and discussions around the summit and other leadership organs of the coalition," he added.

Put to task on whether ODM has been trying to malign other parties in NASA, Mbadi expressed that on the contrary, he felt that his party has been bullied by the coalition partners.

Mbadi further refuted claims that the plan to remove Wetangula from his senatorial position was an initiative of the ODM parliamentary group.

"I don't think it is true that in our parliamentary group (meeting) we made a resolution to replace the Minority Leader in the Senate (Wetangula)," Mbadi noted.

He equally denied claims that ODM has been planning to remove Robert Mbui, the Deputy Minority Leader and Minority Whip Chris Wamalwa from their positions.

The Minority Leader made reference to an incident that Mavoko MP Patrick Makau took Mbadi's seat in parliament as a condescending attitude indicating that ODM has not become vindictive against affiliate parties in the coalition.
