Moses Kuria Offers to Lead Wetangula Out of Minority Leader's Office

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria on Tuesday made a sarcastic offer to Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula after he was ousted as the Senate Minority Leader.

Through a post on his Facebook timeline, Kuria seemingly mocked Wetangula offering to lead him out of office following a vote by ODM Senators to replace him.

"Today, I volunteer to peacefully show Weta the way out of the Office of the Senate Minority Leader," he divulged.

In an apparent reference to the January 30 controversial swearing ceremony that was boycotted by NASA co-principals, Kuria exclaimed that Wetangula’s removal was punishment for betraying ODM leader Raila Odinga.

"Loyalty is paid back in installments but betrayal is punished instantly," expressed the lawmaker.

Kuria also advised Mr Odinga to stick to his course by supposedly cutting off anyone who may have "used him for so long" in the past.

"Go Baba Go. They have borrowed your wings to fly so high and then laugh at you from the skies, mocking your inability to fly," emphasized the MP.

Reminiscing an incident that took place while he was campaigning during the August 8 general election, Kuria narrated how he survived a hailstorm of stones while campaigning in Chwele, Bungoma County.

"When I later complained to Moses Wetangula about this treatment by his goons, he laughed it off and told me 'Nilituma vijana wangu wakuonyeshe njia ya kurudi kwenu nyumbani' (I sent my boys to show you the way to your home)," Kuria added.

On Tuesday, the Ford Kenya party chairman was removed as Senate minority leader following a meeting by ODM senators.

He is set to be replaced by Siaya Senator James Orengo who will be deputised by his Kakamega counterpart Cleophas Malala.

Reports indicated that leaders allied to Ford Kenya are to meet up to deliberate on the way forward.
